Terms of Service

1. What Klyftly is

Klyftly is a managed freelance marketplace operated from India. Clients describe a goal; Klyftly plans the work, matches verified freelancers, coordinates delivery, and holds milestone payments until the client approves the result. Freelancers receive matched work without bidding.

2. Accounts

You need an account with a verified phone number to use the platform. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, attempt fraud, or abuse other people on the platform.

3. Fees

Posting a job costs a flat service fee (currently $20), which covers Klyftly's management of the project and includes a bundle of coordination credits. Additional credits can be purchased. Freelancers pay a platform fee (currently 10 percent) on released milestone value only; the exact rate and the net amount are shown to the freelancer before they accept any work. Clients pay exactly the quoted milestone amounts: Klyftly adds no markup to freelancer work. Promotional codes, where offered, modify these fees as described at redemption.

4. Milestones and held funds

Freelancer work is paid through fixed-price milestones. The client funds a milestone before work begins; Klyftly holds the funds and releases them to the freelancer only when the client approves the work, or as the outcome of issue resolution. Funded amounts are not Klyftly's revenue; they are held for the freelancer pending approval. If a client raises an issue on a milestone, the funds stay held until a person on our team resolves it with both sides.

5. Payments outside Klyftly

Any payment made outside Klyftly is not protected by Klyftly. There is no escrow, no dispute process, no deliverable tracking, and no record of what was paid. Klyftly takes no responsibility for a project, its deliverables, or its payments where money moved outside the platform. This applies to clients and freelancers equally. Sharing contact details between you is allowed; the protection simply ends where the platform's payment rails end.

6. Non-circumvention (draft for legal review)

Engagements that begin on Klyftly are paid through Klyftly, for the duration of the engagement and for 12 months after it ends (this tail period is a placeholder pending legal review). Taking a Klyftly-made match off the platform to avoid fees is a breach of these terms and may result in removal from the platform and forfeiture of pending platform payouts. This clause exists to keep the protections in section 5 funded and real for everyone.

7. The work relationship

Freelancers are independent professionals, not employees of Klyftly. Each project carries a work policy (including whether generation tooling is permitted) that the freelancer affirms before joining. Deliverables belong to the client once the relevant milestone is released, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.

8. Acceptable use

No illegal work, no infringing content, no attempts to move payment for matched work off the platform to avoid fees, and no harassment. We may decline or stop projects that put people at risk.

9. Refunds and disputes

The job-post fee pays for management work that begins immediately and is generally not refundable once sourcing has started. Funded milestones are refundable until released, at the outcome of issue resolution. Decisions are made by a person, not automatically.

10. Liability

Klyftly coordinates work between independent parties. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid Klyftly in the three months before the claim arose. We do not exclude liability where the law does not allow it.

11. Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect.
